About Josh Mohr, CPA
Since 2012, my career has revolved around the dynamic world of public accounting, where my innate passion for organization and problem-solving finds its perfect outlet. While some may perceive accounting as mundane, I thrive on leveraging the latest technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the services I offer my clients.
As a CPA specializing in accounting and tax services, my focus extends to private small and mid-sized pass-through entities across diverse industries, including hospitality, legal, technology, real estate, manufacturing, and more. With over a decade of tax and bookkeeping experience, I have dedicated myself to navigating the complexities of meeting the needs of closely held businesses and their owners.
After growing up in the small town of Silverton, Oregon, my professional journey took a unique turn as I began my career as a carpenter, crafting high-end wood furniture and artistic pieces for a custom home builder in Bend, Oregon. Transitioning to academia, I earned an associate degree from Central Oregon Community College before graduating magna cum laude with a 4.0 GPA and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Linfield University. Upon graduation, I was honored as the 2013 Outstanding Accounting Student of the Year by the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA).
My professional trajectory led me to Delap, a prominent local CPA firm in Lake Oswego, followed by a brief stint with a smaller firm before embarking on the entrepreneurial path of starting my own firm. In 2020, I merged my firm with a larger firm in McMinnville, OR, where I served as a partner until my sale of the business in June 2023.
Post-sale, my family and I embraced a wonderful move to North Idaho, reveling in increased quality time together amidst the great outdoors. From summer days at the lake to fall hikes, we’ve found joy in these memory making moments. With our kids now old enough, we anticipate rekindling our love for snowboarding and other winter activities. As parents, my wife and I share the privilege and adventure of homeschooling our 9, 7, and 5-year-olds. In my free time, my interests extend to travel, pickleball, surfing, and spending time outdoors.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I’ve applied my accounting skills in Africa. Partnering with my wife, a Labor and Delivery nurse at Kootenai Health, we’ve journeyed to Uganda twice with our children to support an enlightening nonprofit, Christ Sanctuary International Ministries. This organization empowers individuals with practical skills to sustain their families, establishes schools and churches, operates medical clinics, and drills wells in remote regions of Uganda and other African nations.
My unwavering commitment to my faith and family defines my life’s priorities. These principles not only provide me with purpose but also guide my daily actions, emphasizing honesty, integrity, and transparency. Upholding these values enables me to establish trust in both my personal and professional relationships.
